Summer term 2025

We have been able to celebrate a number of sporting successes this summer term. Our Y2 and Y6 mixed cricket teams both won their respective CBSSP (Colchester Blackwater School Sports Partnership) competitions and made it through to the Essex County finals. 

Our girls' netball and football teams, consisting of players from Y4, 5 and 6 won the St Joseph's College high 5 netball and 5-a-side football tournaments.

Numerous boys' and girls' friendly netball and football fixtures were played and Lawford remained unbeaten all year.

Lawford hosted Dedham Primary School in a Y5/6 athletics competition. After some close events and races, Lawford pipped our visitors to the winner's medals.

We finished the year with our annual sports awards on the final day of term. Congratulations to all our class sports stars of the year and our overall sports star of the year winner, Thia, who captained our netball and football teams to success, received recognition at county level in cricket and netball and was a very valued team member in our tag rugby, cross-country and athletics teams too. Not only leading by example with her competitive nature on the pitches, tracks and courts, but a role model for impeccable sportsmanship too.
