  • Admissions

All mid-year applications (every application other than for a September Reception intake) must be made directly to the school using both the Mid-Year Application (MYA) form and a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) in case of a waiting list. The school's policies and forms can be found in the documents section below. Applications should be emailed to: admissions@lawford.essex.sch.uk

The admissions process for children starting school in Reception the following September, starts in November each year. Parents applying for a September Reception intake place must complete the online form on the Essex admissions website (or via the Suffolk process, if you live in Suffolk) and also our SIF (Supplementary Information Form).

School tours for prospective parents of the reception intake in September 2026.

Our open evening is on Tuesday 4th November at 18:00.  There will be tours led by our year 6 pupils and a presentation by the headteacher and reception teachers (this will start at 19:00).  This will be followed by 'stay and play' sessions on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th November.  A chance for you and your child to spend time in the classroom together.  Please call the school office to book.

Please contact the school office on 01206393585 or email admissions@lawford.essex.sch.uk to book a place.  If you are unable to make any of these dates, we will try and accommodate you at another time, possibly after school hours.

Parents will be given more information when they visit the school prior to their child or children starting here.  Our induction sessions for pupils are organised to help ensure that every child makes a smooth transition into our school.

    Children already of school age

If you are moving into the area and/or considering transferring your child from another primary school, information about availability in your child's year group is available here.

Applications must be made directly to the School using the forms below.

If a place can be offered, it is expected that the child will start within 10 schooldays of the offer being made, if for the current term, or at the start of the term for which the application has been made.

Please note: Applications for the start of the next academic year or the next term cannot be dealt with until the half term prior to the requested admission date.

    For example:

An application for the Autumn Term (September) will not be accepted until after the preceding summer half-term holiday (May/June).

An application for the Spring Term (January) will not be accepted until  after the preceding autumn half-term holiday (October).

An application for the Summer Term (April) will not be accepted until after the preceding spring half-term holiday (February).
